Good to know
How Explorers works here
7th Swindon has formal partnerships with Explorer units in the district, giving our Scouts a natural next step. The units are delivered in partnership rather than run directly by the Group.
Costs
Costs vary by unit and activity. The partnership units will explain subscriptions and any activity costs, support is available and cost should never be a barrier.
Young Leaders
Explorers can take on Young Leader roles, helping to run Beavers, Cubs or Scouts while developing their own leadership skills and awards.
Inclusion and additional needs
Explorer units welcome everyone. Let us or the unit know what support would help and it can be discussed confidentially.
Every young person is welcome at Explorers. See our inclusion and support page, or talk to us in confidence.
Explorers FAQs
How do Scouts move up to Explorers?
As young people reach around 14, we help them move on to one of our partner Explorer units. We'll support the transition and introduce the right contacts.
Which unit should we choose?
Both Medusa and Hydra offer great programmes. Get in touch and we'll help you find the unit that best fits, including meeting details shared privately.
